  • List of must-do's before April 1st ...

    OK ... lets see.

#1. Get self  ready mentally, physically and emotionally for the Trip to Thailand to work with mates at the Karen Childrens Camp, (CANT WAIT!!!) and do what a mother should to help Tiff to prepare as well.

*19 days to go ... WOOT!!!*

ok .. not too bad so far. I can do this ... *grins*

    Oh .. WHAT's THAT!?!?!?! ................ GEEEEEEZ LOUIIIIIIIIISE!

#2. FIND A NEW HOUSE TO MOVE INTO because the owners of our rental home have decided to sell, BEFORE the 25th of March.

    *blink* ...

*looks at date on comp...... 13th of March today ...

*gulp* ... 12 days to go*

#3. Find enough boxes, then PACK said boxes of all personal belongings of family and any other random who just so happened to leave anything here.

#4. Arrange movers to get said personal stuff from one place to HOPEFULLY LORD another home ... if not .. to some place of God's will.

Ok ... Ok ... its .. erm ... its going to be a push .. but hey .. its doable .. right Lord? Its doable!

#5. Reads email from friend in Thailand

#6. Laugh ones head off ... not literally ... but not too far from it .....

#7. Reads FORWARDED email from friend in Thailand:

I was wondering if you get in contact with Narelle for me. I was wondering if she would be willing to be in charge of the 1st - 3rd graders.  I don't know for sure how many yet, probably about 20-30.  I'd let her know next week.  She would have some foreign helpers, as well as some of xxxx's girls.  The day would consist of the younger ones being in the big group to sing songs at the beginning.  They would soon split, and xxxx's girls would teach them a Bxxxx Story.  They would then have an English session (game/lesson), then another Bxxxx story would be taught by xxxx's girls.  After that would come another English lesson.  After that, they could sing or play games till lunch.  The English and Bxxxx sessions would be about 45 minutes each.  Then they would eat lunch with the big group.  In the afternoon, they would have workshops.  Last year, the younger ones were divided into two groups.  They had two workshop stations, after an 1hr and 15 minutes, they then switched.  The next day, they had two different projects.  I hope that makes sense.

I was wondering if Narelle would be in charge of the afternoon workshops for the younger kids.

I'm also wondering if she would be comfortable being in charge of teaching English to them.  If she would rather not, let us know.  If she wants ideas, we'd be glad to help her out. .....................................................................................

#8. Laughs some more and feels terribly priveleged!

#9. Sends email back agreeing to take on said position.

#10. Stands amazed at God's goodness in allowing her to  see how Satan has stuffed up by showing his hand once more.

You see, the above list would usually turn me into a total puddle of what you all would call jello, but ... the thing is, it has strengthened me. You see, as Tiff said, "We KNEW that Satan wasnt just going to roll over and let us go so easily." And she is right! I mean, the working with the kids is going to stretch us to billy-o, but that doesnt scare me ... finding a home, well that is uncomfortable, but i do find myself looking forward to the beginning of another new chapter for our family. The camp? Wow, it must be close on to 10 months that the poor people who live around here have had an ear bashing about my excitment at the miracles upon miracles surrounding our going. To be honest, there are still miracles to come ... pretty massive ones in the natural, but hey ... I couldnt be MORE CERTAIN that we are going if we were standing in Thailand already!

Please rejoice with me. I am just SO pumped!!!

    Psalm 147:1-11

    Praise the Lord.

How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!     (He deserves nothing less in ALL circumstances. In fact he commands it, not because he is a vain God, but because he knows exactly how it starts the ball rolling in the circumstances that lead to blessings for us. And even should those blessings tarry, lets be totally honest, is there ANYTHING that could be of greater blessing than to build deeper relationship with HIM?

The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.

Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.

The Lord sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.

Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp.

He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.

He provided food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.

    His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of a man;

the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in HIS UNFAILING LOVE.

    ~*~

See ... TOLD ya i can do this .... *winks*

    Love you all,

    Narelle

  • So much has been happening in our lives in the last few months, I guess it would be too long winded to spill it all onto this page. Some wonderful, some amazing, some terribly hard, and of course when you talk about the soul and its selfish wants ... some just plain ugly.

I won't go into it all .. but needless to say life is amazing.

Tiff and I are off to Thailand in  a few months .. my heart races at the thought of it. From meeting dear old friends and meeting dear new ones,  working with the kids and their carers and hopefully leave with them feeling like they are loved and thought of just a little more than before we came.

I have to say ... my heart cries for the children. I know there are strict rules there, but i just want to love on them. I am not sure what form it will take, but God is faithful and i know he will guide us to bless them where they are at. Its all about Him after all .. only about Him!

  • The Crosswalk

Awesome!! We complain about the cross we bear but don't realize it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we cannot.

    Whatever your cross,
    whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine, after the rain....
    Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall;
But God's always ready, to answer your call....
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
a word from His lips, can calm every fear...
Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, by dawn's early light...
The Savior is waiting, somewhere above,
to give you His grace, and send you His love.

May God fill your day with blessings!!

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle!

                                     ~*~

Hey everyone, I received this from my conjoined twin, Connie. It would seem that there is yet another of me out there .. banished to the other side of the world. Tis rather crazy realizing that there is someone so very much like you somewhere in the world. Connie, my commiserations on you being that someone, girl.

     *winks*

One day sis, we get to mouth off at each other in the same room .. k!?!

Love and blessings to you all,

    Lily

  • Family conversation ...

Just in case you hadn't noticed, it would seem that it may be a good idea to listen, and i mean REALLY listen when your children are singing worship songs around the house. Don't take for granted that they are getting it completely right ...

Elissa (11yo):  Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wrench like me ....

    Cassandra (15yo): *LAUGHS*

Elissa! That is NOT how it goes!

Elissa: Ok, then how does it go?

    Cassandra: It goes ...

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wench like me.....

    See??? ..... *rolls eyes*..... KIDS!!!

  • PLEASE PRAY FOR AUSTRALIAN ABORTION LAWS!!!

    Vic parliament continues abortion debate

    October 7, 2008, 7:28 pm
Anti-abortion campaigners met at the Victorian Parliament steps to voice their disapproval.

Victoria's proposed abortion legislation received support as it began its journey through the upper house.

Debate on the controversial bill, which seeks to decriminalise abortions up to 24 weeks gestation, began late Tuesday afternoon in the Legislative Council, with MPs being allowed conscience votes.

After passing through the lower house unamended last month, the Abortion Law Reform Bill was expected to receive a tough ride in the upper house.

But of the first six speakers to air their views during the debate, only one was opposed, while a previously undecided MP, Nationals Peter Hall, said he would support the bill.

Mr Hall believed if the bill was defeated the status quo would remain.

"I want you all to understand if you vote against the bill ... we will be no better off than the current situation implies," Mr Hall told his fellow upper house members.

He said he did not believe arguments that if the bill passed, the number of abortions in Victoria would increase.

Under the legislation, two doctors would decide if an abortion was appropriate after 24 weeks based on the woman's physical, psychological and social circumstances.

Greens MP Colleen Hartland, who had an abortion

27 years ago, said all three Green upper house members supported the legislation.

In a moving speech, she spoke of the traumatic

experiences women underwent when backyard abortions were still common, and dedicated her speech to all women who had died or were maimed during an abortion.

She said the decision to have an abortion after

24 weeks was "truly the exception and only done in exceptional circumstances".

"It's the most heart-wrenching and heartbreaking decision, a pregnancy that starts with joy ... ended with heartbreak and grief."

Her key argument was the decision to have a termination, at whatever stage of the pregnancy, should be a woman's alone.

After Ms Hartland concluded her speech and Labor MP Candy Broad began hers in support of the bill, a woman in the public gallery yelled abuse at Ms Broad and made an offensive gesture.

Liberals MP John Vogels spoke of his staunch opposition to the bill.

He believed abortion destroyed a life and was a sign of a selfish society that women wanted to be able to abort a baby if it had a disability.

Earlier Tuesday, a group of doctors called on Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to stop the bill from proceeding, saying it breached human rights and an international treaty.

Doctors in Conscience Against Abortion Bill said it has received legal advice that finds the bill is in conflict with Victoria's Charter of Rights and Responsibilities and the International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).

The ICCPR is an international treaty to which Australia is a signatory.

Group spokeswoman Dr Mary Lewis said the bill was unprecedented in the western world, imposing laws that forced doctors to act in violation of their conscientious beliefs.

"The Australian government has an obligation to ensure Australia's laws are consistent with the charter, and we call upon Mr Rudd to intervene with Victorian Premier John Brumby and insist that Victoria not proceed with this legislation," Dr Lewis told reporters.

One of the most contentious aspects of the bill is that it says medical practitioners who have a moral objection to abortion must refer a woman on to another practitioner who doesn't have the same objection.

Debate on the bill in the upper house is expected to continue for the rest of the week

  • They grow so fast!

For those who don't know, I have been filling in at the day care centre at the girls' school where i work. The children in the three rooms that i have been working around are aged from 6 weeks to three years ... sooo cute!  At the moment i am in the green room which has children from 15 months to 3 years. You got it .. nappies and toilet training are quite a part of this room. Strangely though .. i am STILL as clucky as .. sigh.  *winks*

Anyhow, yesterday I was sitting in the sandpit with some of my little friends, and one of the little boys who is just two reached a rather important milestone in his life. I just sat there and stared for a minute .. then just couldnt help but bursting out in hillarity.

Little 'A' had been picking on a rather small girl, 'M', in the room most of the day. She is under two .. a younger woman so to speak. He had even decided at one stage that she really needed him to sit on her chest, kicking and screaming while he coloured in. Now dont get me wrong, this is one of the sweetest little boys in all the world .. his problem is just that .. he IS very much a boy still.

Back to the sandpit we go after that explanation ...

I was sitting there with little 'M' standing next to the large container of sandpit toys, when 'A' just couldnt help himself. Up from the heart came his very first pick up line .......

He tries to squeeze past the sandpit toys and myself with his arms out to her saying in his broken english .. "He..llo cu..ty"

Man i lost it .. he was all in for a smooch too.

Children .. they are SO good for a giggle!!!

  • My Beautiful Girls

Ok .. so I am a proud mum .. I cant help myself. I just HAVE to post these pics of my girls.

    Tiffany ~ 17yo

Typical aussie, speaks through her nose, yet aspires to go to the University of Queensland next year to study Bachelor of Speech Pathology .. plays bass guitar, some mean clarinet, and wishes to dominate the world.

    Image050

    Cassandra ~ 15yo

Doesn't speak through nose, surprisingly, in fact came up with the word 'immensely' on her fathers day scrawl for the below photo gift. (Well, it impressed ME) Doesnt really know what she wants to do when she leaves school .. desires world peace.

    Image009

    Katrina ~ 13yo

Greatest desire in life is to see High School Musical 3.. over and over and over and over and over again. I assure you .. she just DOESN'T get tired of it. *ponders the idea that there may be a Highschool Musical demon.* Katrina also wishes to marry a farmer so that she can get up REALLY early in the morning to muck out stalls and feed the animals.  This of course brings the question of who's child she actually is!

    Katrina sept 08

    Elissa ~ 11yo

Elissa's idea of showing affection is to beat the tar out of a person, preferably with a running leap thrown in there someplace. Her personal motto: Love hurts, so do I. Elissa hates to do her hair .. unless you can't tell, and tends to rope Tiffany in fix it for her. Elissa's desire is to see  ...  world peace.

    Image016

And THIS dear friends, is Mark's finished Fathers Day present.

    So what do you think?
